KIB is organised into specialised departments that work together to ensure learners and persons with visual impairment can access quality education, rehabilitation and information in formats that work for them.

ERD

Educational Resources Department

Leads the production of Braille, tactile and accessible learning materials for learners with visual impairment across Kenya.

Production and distribution of accessible learning resources for learners with visual impairment. Learners with visual impairment, special and integrated schools, teachers, examination bodies and partners.

TRP

Training, Rehabilitation & Placement

Provides rehabilitation, skills training and placement support to empower persons with visual impairment for independent living and meaningful participation in society.

Rehabilitation, skills training and placement support for persons with visual impairment. Learners, trainees, job seekers and adults with visual impairment; families and support staff.
