About the Department
The Educational Resources Department is responsible for producing and supplying high-quality accessible learning and information materials for learners and persons with visual impairment and other print disabilities. The department works closely with schools, examination bodies, higher learning institutions and partners to ensure that content is available in Braille, tactile graphics, audio and accessible digital formats. It also provides technical support on the use, maintenance and repair of specialised equipment used in production.

Binding & Tactile Labelling
The Binding & Tactile Labelling service supports the finishing of Braille and accessible materials, ensuring durability, organisation and ease of use in classrooms and libraries.
Braille Equipment Repairs
Braille Equipment Repairs ensure that Braille writers and related machines remain in good working condition. The service supports institutions and individuals to maintain reliable tools for reading and writing.
Braille Transcription
The Braille Transcription service converts print materials into high-quality Braille for learners and persons with visual impairment in primary, secondary and tertiary levels. KIB works with schools, examination bodies and institutions to ensure that curriculum content, examinations and reference materials are available in timely and accurate Braille formats.
Tactile Graphics & 3D Models
The Tactile Graphics and 3D Models service supports subjects that rely heavily on diagrams, spatial concepts, maps and illustrations. KIB designs and produces tactile graphics and models that allow learners with visual impairment to explore content through touch.
